Self-Compassion Mantras from Teachers Like You
You speak kindly to your students, to your coworkers, to members of your school community, but…do you speak kindly to yourself?
We can be our own harshest critics, but the school day is already hard enough without also being hard on yourself. That’s why this month I led a new series called 30 Days of Self-Compassion in our Beat Burnout Facebook group. Hundreds of teachers participated, and their focus on self-compassion was a beautiful thing to witness.
The 30 Days of Self-Compassion series is now available as an Ebook, so that you and your school community have the tools to foster a mindset of self-compassion this year. Get the full ebook here.
Throughout these 30 days, members of our community shared powerful self-compassion mantras, or phrases they want to keep in mind when they catch themselves being self-critical. Here, I am sharing just a few of those mantras with you.
If you resonate with one of these mantras, write it down and read it often. The more you introduce these positive ideas, the more your mind will believe it. There’s a power to the story we tell ourselves.
