Teacher 3-2-1: On stillness + breath

Watch above, or read below (or a little of both!) The choice is up to you :)

3 Teacher Wellness Ideas From Me

I.

Breath is one of the most powerful tools we have to reduce stress and reduce it quickly. Breathing deeply sends an immediate message to your brain to relax. The brain then sends signals to the body so your muscles can relax and your heart rate can slow down.

II.

Deep breathing is especially helpful for teachers because it can be practiced anytime, anywhere. 3 deep breaths are even possible to sneak in mid-lesson if you notice your stress levels rising!

III.

Turning your attention to your breath in meditation can give your brain a break from the worries and tasks of the day. With a refreshed mind, you can go about your day with better focus, creativity, and an improved mood.

2 Quotes from Others

I.

“Within you there is silence and stillness to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself.” - Hermann Hesse

II.

“Breathing in, I calm my body. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is a wonderful moment!” - Thich Nhat Hanh
