Small changes to⚡BOOST ENERGY this week
The classic catch-22: You want to be healthier so you have more energy, but you don’t have the energy to do the healthy things.
Luckily, you don’t have to make huge changes to feel better in mind and body this school week. You’ll notice that the tips of this week are tiny changes that can add up to big results.
Here are 3 wellness ideas, 2 quotes, and 1 question to help you boost energy without making huge changes to your daily routine.
3 Tips from Me
I.
Drink an extra cup of water. However much water you’re drinking now, aim to add just 8 oz (one cup) more. Some ideas on how to do this: Bring a water bottle to school, drink the extra cup before one of your meals, have the school bells be a cue to take an extra sip…However you choose to hydrate, those extra sips can make a big difference for your focus, mood and energy during the day.
II.
Go to sleep 15 minutes earlier. Sleep is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves for a more energized, positive day. However much sleep you are getting now, try going to bed just 15 minutes earlier this week, and add 15 minutes next week until you reach 7-8 hours a night. Already getting 7-8 hours? Try going to bed earlier and waking up a bit earlier for a more relaxed morning. A more relaxed morning can directly lead to a more relaxed day.
III.
Add 10 minutes of movement. Speaking of top gifts we can give ourselves, moving is one of the greatest stress relievers we have in our tool belt, but you can overdo it. Some ideas: take a 10 minute walk or stretch break at lunch; do a quick yoga video before bed. Already have an exercise routine? Try adding a 5 minute warm-up and cool down to round out the workout. You don’t have to move a lot to get the energy-boosting benefits of exercise.
