Relax After School with this Turmeric Latte

Caffeinated drinks like coffee, soda, and energy drinks are tempting, especially when you’re struggling with the heavy fatigue of burnout.

But excessive caffeine can actually make certain burnout symptoms—such as trouble sleeping, digestive issues, and anxiety—worse.

Instead, we want to take steps to calm the nervous system and relax the body so you can process the stress of the day and recover lost energy faster.

That’s where this easy and soothing Turmeric Latte recipe comes in.

Here are some of the benefits of a Turmeric Latte:

  • It’s high in antioxidants which can help support a healthy immune system

  • It can help reduce inflammation and joint pain, which can be worsened when we’re chronically stressed

  • It can improve memory and brain function - Which all teachers need in a fast-paced classroom

  • It may help improve mood by reducing symptoms of depression

Here’s how to make one in less than 5 minutes:

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups of milk of your choice (I like oat milk!)

  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp maple syrup or honey

  • 1 crack of black pepper

Instructions:

Put all ingredients in a saucepan and whisk over gentle heat. You can use a milk frother if you have one. Once the beverage is heated to your desired temperature, pour into your favorite mug and enjoy.
