Mini Course: Keep Self-Care in Your School Year
Lesson 2: Make Self-Care Simple
What you don’t want during a busy school year is a complicated, overwhelming, unattainable self-care plan - You’ve got big fish to fry and no time for that! Starting with a simple plan helps ensure you will stay consistent without getting overwhelmed. Follow the guidelines in this lesson to keep self-care simple, so you can benefit from self-care without getting burned out by self-care.
Apply Your Learning
Choose just one area of self-care you would like to work on (nutrition, hydration, movement, sleep, connection).
Make the habit you would like to practice specific so that you can say with a certain yes or no that you’ve completed the goal each day.
Make sure your habit is attainable. It is somewhere in between the habit you have now and the ideal habit for each self-care area (See Lesson 1 for ideals). It should feel challenging but not too far out of your comfort zone.
Next, let’s get rid of excuses, even on days when you lack motivation, by making your self-care plan easy.
